Electrode liveset from TechPack3

This set was recorded live at party TrchPack 3, Stara Pekaren, Nitra, Slovakia 15.09.2007. I really enjoyed my show there and played a nice set, even though I was a little nervous and made two ... ehm scratches. Electrode today at Double X!

Today is the big day, Double X festival is finally here! Electrode is starting the techno tent and between 18.00 and 20.00 will play his minimal-techno-set. The last half an hour will be also back-to-back set with Tommi Tervonen, so don't miss it!

Electrode today on Radio FM!

In todays broadcast of Radio FM's club session 4 elements will Electrode play his half an hour set. It will be part of promotion to Double X festival. Electrode 3rd in XMAG remix competition

Electrode ended third (with the same amount of points as second) in XMAG remix competition. The goal was to create a track with use of at least one sample from page www.xmag.cz/doaremix. I have used two of them (pretty re-aranged) and my track called Unforgetable, which features me also on the vocoded vocals, ended third from almost 60 remixes! First summer festivals

Even though it looks like the summer is already here (at least from the weather here in Slovakia), for the real summer we will have to wait two months. But not for the first summer festivals!

The first bigger festival - Wilsonic will be here in less than 53 days. This year, from 8. to 9. june will the Slovakia's most exploratory festival host for the first time dubstep artists like Digital Mystikz and Loefah. It will be first time when dubstep is presented on a big festival here in Slovakia and also when such a quality artists of this genre will appear here. This festival is also the leader of delivering the fresh minimal techno sound. After last years Daniel Bell and Alex Under will this year host my absolutely favorite 3 Channels from Poland and maybe this year the most respected and wanted Audion from USA, so the line up is really great!

Next summer festival is Double X, which regularly takes place at our hometown Senec. This years festival date is 30. june and only recently was launched its new web page - www.doublex.sk - so check it out!

I also have to mention maybe the biggest festival - Pohoda, which has this year very strong line up - Air, Basement Jaxx, Dave Clarke, Junkie XL drum and bass duo Ed Rush and Optical, DJ Marky or swedish techno master Adam Beyer. All of them 20. - 21. 07. 2007 in Trencin.

TechPack 2 24.03.07

Party series TechPack at Stara Pekaren in Nitra, Slovakia have an interesting concept. Only slovak djs and liveacts appear on the lineups of this events. Most of them are also producers, who create their own tracks. And it wasn't different this saturday 24th march on TechPack2 with Electrode, Noro, Sepromatiq, Miss Rodez, Caterpillar and dj Galbtoma. Honestly, there were only a few people at this event and I have expected that. It was because at friday was a big techno party in Bratislava (Oxygen, which has formerly taken place in Nitra) and also the party wasn't promoted very well. But also this few people have created really nice atmosphere. I have to say that I don't like hardtechno too much, which was mostly played here, but Miss Rodez & Sepromatiq played a set which was quite nice - not too hard. Later were djs playing much harder and that is really not my cup of tea. Maybe I'm getting old. ;-)

Yes! Friday 9th March was again the night when Lobster resonated under the heavy grooves of fat minimal techno. It was a very successful night, lots of people came to enjoy hi quality music ;-)

Electrode @ Lobster 23.02.07

Wild and crazy was the friday night at Lobster in Senec. I think that everyone who was there would agree, that it was heavy and with surprisingly many people. Also, two of them were celebrating birthday there (happy birthday once more :-)

The party started slowly at about ten o'clock. The first man behind the decks was Igitech, then he was exchanged by Daily at about eleven. Nice minimal grooves were sometimes interrupted by not so good mixes. Guys were trying their best, but one of the turntables refused to work and jumped anywhere it wanted. Ten minutes before midnight has Daily tried what a notebook will do when closed still operating, so we entered the saturday morning in silence.

That was exactly the time when I (Electrode) was supposed to play, so I just plugged everything in and started. From midnight to half past one I was playing my minimal set, which was actually my premiere as a minimal dj (I do live acts more than mp3 dj-ing). I have also played live with Igitech, who combined my live tracks with his vinyls, which was also very unusual, but nice.

I suppose that no one wanted to go home when the party ended, but barman has to sleep too. I have to say, that I haven't left Lobster with such a good feeling ever before, so I wanted to thank everybody who was there and who created such a delicious mood. Many thanks!

Milkshake 16.02.07 - Viena Rock

We have arrived to Subclub (Bratislava) at about midnight. At that time, Milosh and Skank (www.leporelo.sk) - residents of this night were behind the decks. Maybe it's only my feeling that Subclub is filling with people slower and later that other clubs, but at midnight there were about eight people dancing on the floor. Milosh & Skank were playing sometimes solid minimal, sometimes disco (hehe) and they played also some Depeche Mode remix, which may be cheap, but sounded really good. I have to say, that I didn't have very good feeling about their performance , maybe because they have been changing behind the decks, but I was definitely missing something there. Guys were using Serato (Skank : "Because it is the best"), which seems to be popular among many djs now.

At two o'clock has djane Tibcurl from Vienna (www.tibcurl.com) exchanged leporelo crew behind the turntables. The club was now much more filled with people. If I was missing something before, now was everything at its best. She was playing good, lively and in black galusses. She played tracks like DJ Fame - Name it X or Gummihz - Isolate (Sebo K remix).

At about four o'clock another guest from Vienna started to play - dj Romancer (www.myspace.com/r0mancer). He was playing minimal techno without compromises, very rythmical, less melodic. It's a shame he was playing so late, because we were leaving at five, when his set was really good pumping.

It was a nice party with more people than I have expected. My respect and applause to leporelo crew for the education of visitors :-)

Double X '07 - first info

Fourth volume of senec based open air festival Double X will take place on saturday, 30th of June 2007. Dus@n decided to change the date from august to end of june and beginning of holidays while there was terrible weather last year. I suppose that this event will be even more massive than before, but I think that it will affect mostly the younger party people.

While none of the headliners is officialy announced, I will not tell any names. But what I can give away is, that the most "bigger" headliner will be on hip-hop stage. It is a group, that is known worldwide and became a classic in this genre.
Of course there will be two classic stages - techno and dnb, where slovak and international artists of high quality will appear.

So I'm starting to look forward :-)

As usual, I have played my own tracks live with Ableton Live and my midi controller.

At first, I have to say that it is very likely that technology hates me. I don't know why, but it does. My computer refused to do gapless playback when I had to play. And it was not for the first time, that everything was fine until I went to play on some party. Now I know where the problem was and also how to repair it, but I don't know why it occured.
Nevermid, the party was quite nice, even though there weren't much people. It was a birthday party of djs Lopuch & Daily and so there were mostly their friends.
Headliner of this party, irish dj and producer Stuey Lyons played nice and very pumpy minimal set. Even though minimal techno isn't so popular in our country (yet), he really played well and the dacefloor was crowded (if it can be sayed so ;).
Also "afterparty" at the hotel with Stuey and his frieds (two of his "irish dancers" can be seen on the photo) was good and we do apologize to the hotel crew :D
Quite a nice party, except some hardware problems and mindless violence of one idiotic guy :(

first post

So this is a first post to our blog.
'Trubice' is a music producers crew from Senec, Slovakia a small town near our capital Bratislava. We are three - Electrode (techno, minimal, house), Diomos (techno, experimental, chill-out) and Mokus (drum and bass).
You will find here posts about music (mostly our music, but not only ;), about music production (tips, our experiences ...) and parties where we will play, have played or which we just visited.
